‘It all begins and ends with the sea’.

Having spent much of my childhood on the Antrim Coast, I have always been interested in the sea, coast and environment around me.

No matter what I’m drawn to of our beautiful country I always return to the sea. Calm, invigorating and sometimes scary, the sea and its many facets unapologetically finds its way into most of my work.

My practice is grounded in traditional methods, yet I continually explore new media to challenge myself and more effectively capture the stunning coastal landscapes that inspire me to document and preserve them. I have been painting and selling work for over 30 years. Having spent 14 years in the design industry, and travelling extensively, I returned to painting and began lecturing when I returned home to Northern Ireland.
